The Safe Haven Community Skill Center
is a 501c3 non for profit organization
Mission Statement
The mission of Safe Haven Community Skill Center is to serve as an alternative educational service. We strive to provide training in marketable skills to assist a person to obtain employment or to update their skills. The training component consist of workshops in proposal writing, case management, financial education, faith-base counselor, and non-profit management. In addition to offer to the community workshops that address educational, and community issues.
Workshops, Seminars, Meetings,
and Announcement Board
Dr. Eurydice Moore will be teaching proposal writing the 1st and 3rd saturaday at the Safe Haven Community Skill Center from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. And Dr. Moore will be teaching every 2nd and 4th saturaday at the Sinai Community Institute on the West Side of Chicago from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The workshops are available year round in the following formats one-on-ones, small groups, and cooperate settings. You may contact Safe Haven for a listing of workshops, and to register for workshop attendance.
Financial Assistance Program
The Safe Haven Community Skill Center offers economic assistance programs to qualifying individuals. Below are the various component of the finanicial assistance program.
• A&A Scholarship
• Commercement Exchange Program
• Ontel Alms Project
• EB Outreach Services
The A&A Scholarship is economically based to assist individuals in registering in skill base workshops at no cost if one meets criteria. The Scholarships can range from $200 to $1000.
The Commerce Exchange program enable one to barter a service or product in exchange for tuition for qualifying individuals.
The Ontel Alms Project is an educational merit based program to assist individuals in registering in skill base workshop at no cost if individual have a 3.0 grade point average or above. The Alms Project waived cost is between $200 to $1000.
The EB Outreach Services provide educational distance learning opportunities in which professionals visit schools, community centers, and other settings to provide workshops,
Seminars, and meetings that are skill based and informative (i.e. financial education, tutoring, etc).
